Katie Holmes Pays Homage To Judy Garland
On ‘So You Think You Can Dance’

Katie Holmes donned a pair of dark stockings and a black costume as she sang and danced “a sort of homage to Judy Garland” as part of “So You Think You Can Dance’s” 100th episode celebration on Thursday night.

The actress lent her vocal pipes to “Get Happy” as she danced in short-shorts, a black satin jacket and a fedora in a pre-taped performance for the FOX reality show.

Katie’s performance was also in support of the recently started Dizzy Feet Foundation, which she co-founded alongside “SYTYCD” judge Nigel Lythgoe, director Adam Shankman and Carrie Ann Inaba from “Dancing With the Stars.”

“I’m here today because I was approached to be a part of the Dizzy Feet Foundation,” Katie told “SYTYCD” host Cat Deeley before her performance. “I’m also very good friends with Tice Diorio who is an incredible choreographer… He came up with what I think is a great idea [for the performance] and we’ve had a great [time] doing it.”

Katie described her performance as “sort of a homage to Judy Garland,” before taking the stage to rapturous applause.

During the number, the actress showed off her fancy footwork with leg kicks and smooth poses before being lifted up by her black-tie back up dancers.

“I want to thank Katie Holmes for working so hard on that routine,” Nigel said following Katie’s dance. He added a special thanks to the star for donating her performance fee to their foundation, which provides scholarships to dancers, choreographers and dance teachers.
