Katie Holmes Is Not Pregnant, Says Rep
By Allison Corneau
Contrary to recent reports, Suri Cruise will not be getting a sibling any time soon.
A rep for Katie Holmes tells Us Weekly that the "Dawson's Creek" actress and her husband, Tom Cruise, are not expecting baby No. 2, despite a story in Star magazine claiming otherwise.
A so-called “source” for the tabloid says, “She’s struggling to contain the news. She can’t wait to be a mom again, and the sooner she can tell the world about it, the happier she’ll be.”
Another alleged insider claims that during an April 18 visit to the Broadway show “Newsies,” “Suri turned to her mom and asked if her baby sister was in Katie’s tummy!”
“It was clear that Suri was so excited about the prospect of having a younger sibling closer at last,” notes the supposed witness.
Cruise is also “thrilled at the idea of having another child,” continues the mag, adding that the Mission: Impossible star has asked his wife “to take time off in the upcoming months to focus on the baby.”
"It's not true," a rep for Holmes explained to Us Wednesday, the same day that Star's "Baby Bombshell" cover was released. Holmes, 33, has long faced an uphill battle with the publication, which issued her an apology in 2011 after the title published a false report suggesting she was involved with drugs.
Married since 2006, Holmes and Cruise, 49, continue to devote all of their time to only child Suri, who turned 6 on April 18.
"[Suri's birthday] is my favorite day of the year!" proud mom Holmes has said. This year, the adorable mother-daughter duo took in a Broadway showing of "Newsies."
"Katie seemed happy that Suri was having a great time," an eyewitness told Us of the pair. "Suri loved the dance numbers...she was one of the first in the audience to start clapping along!"
