Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise take in "Legally Blonde" in Toronto
By Richard Ouzounian - Theatre Critic
Actress Katie Holmes and her daughter, Suri Cruise, meet Becky Gulsvig, star
of "Legally Blonde The Musical," backstage at the Princess of Wales Theatre on Friday night.
Actors could be spied in more places than just onstage at two of Torontos big musicals on the weekend.
On Friday night, Katie Holmes (in town to play Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis for the History Channel miniseries "The Kennedys") took her daughter, Suri Cruise (as in daddy is Tom Cruise), to see "Legally Blonde The Musical" at the Princess of Wales Theatre.
Suri was dressed all in pink, just like Becky Gulsvig, who plays lead character Elle Woods, when they visited her in her dressing room after the show. Suri had a stuffed pocket pooch in her "Legally Blonde" bag.
Meanwhile, Canadian actor Seth Rogen, here shooting Sarah Polleys new film, "Take This Waltz" (opposite Michelle Williams and Sarah Silverman), took in "Rock of Ages" at the Royal Alexandra Theatre on Saturday night.
Although Rogen told people he was just there to enjoy the show, industry gossip has him being considered for the role of Lonny, the narrator, in the movie version, which Adam (Hairspray) Shankman is expected to start shooting later this year for a summer 2011 premiere.
