By Lynette Rice
It's Showtime for Katie Holmes.
The star of the 2011 TV miniseries The Kennedys will guest-star on the third season of Ray Donovan on Showtime, PEOPLE has learned.
Holmes will play a shrewd and chic businesswoman named Paige, the daughter of billionaire producer Andrew Finney (Ian McShane) who turns to Ray (Liev Schreiber) for help to get his family out of a sticky situation.
Holmes, 35, is also set to reprise her role as Jackie Kennedy in The Kennedys: After Camelot for Reelz Channel. Production will begin in the spring in Canada.
Holmes is keeping a busy slate: She's prepping to make her directorial debut – and star in – All We Had, the adaptation of Annie Weatherwax's novel about a mother (Holmes) and daughter living on the edge of poverty who find an unlikely home in small-town America. Holmes optioned the book in July, before its Aug. 5 publication.
And she'll also appear opposite Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren in the feature film Woman in Gold .
Ray Donovan, which is about an L.A. "fixer" played by Liev Schreiber, is Showtime's second-highest rated drama series following Homeland.
The show's third season began production in Los Angeles on Jan. 26 and is expected to debut this summer.
