Katie Holmes appears on Letterman wearing an LBD
Katie Holmes, wearing heels and a little black dress, talked about Suri, Tom and an embarrassing incident involving Vicks VapoRub when she appeared on David Letterman's U.S. chat show.
Kate, promoting her new film, "The Romantics," said about Suri: "They grow so much faster than you think. I thought she was going to be an infant for a year and that wasn't the case.
"Now she's running all the time and she's so bright."
Talking about her superstar husband Tom Cruise, she added: "Tom will say to her, 'Who's the fastest in the family?' And shell say. 'I'm the fastest! Me me.'
"So one day he's swimming in the pool and he asked her to race.
"So she ran while he swam. She is fast and she beat him."
She also talked about her appearance on Broadway in Arthur Miller's play "All My Sons," which also starred John Lithgow.
During the run, she developed a bad cold and had to rub herself in Vicks VapoRub.
She said: "John Lithgow looked at me like 'Whoah!' Then I realized I had a little halter dress on and it looked like I was oiling myself up.
"I was mortified!"
