Katie Holmes spends $25,000 a month on clothes for daughter Suri Cruise
The Herald Sun - Australia
Katie Holmes is apparently not feeling the global crunch as much as others, reportedly spending $25,000 each month on clothes for her daughter.
The actress can't resist splashing out on designer outfits for three-year-old Suri, who is fast becoming a fashion icon after sporting outfits by Giorgio Armani, Donatella Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Burberry.
Holmes spends her free time looking for new clothes and accessories to ensure the tot is always ahead of the trends.
"Katie wants Suri to be the most fashionable kid in Hollywood," a source told Britain's Grazia magazine.
"Dressing Suri in amazing outfits has become Katie's favourite hobby. She will scour the internet and Beverly Hills shops to find items and get inspiration for different looks."
It has been claimed Holmes went on a $3000 shopping spree at US department store Barneys this month to buy new clothes and accessories for Suri.
She also agreed to buy a $5000 cricket-shaped pendant for her daughter after Suri fell in love with it. Holmes' other purchases for Suri include two $1500 dresses from a Beverly Hills boutique.
The 30-year-old star is also reportedly planning a range of special outfits for Suri to wear this Christmas and has ordered four Christian Dior dresses, an ivory Christian Dior coat and four pairs of specially-made Gucci shoes.
"Suri loves getting involved and choosing things too," the source added.
Earlier this year it was claimed Holmes and her husband Tom Cruise had spent $4 million on clothes for their daughter.
"They always get the top fashion designers to custom-make her clothes. When Katie gets new Christian Louboutin shoes she always gets a few pairs so Suri can wear new shoes every time, " a source said at the time.
