Katie Holmes Dances Off Jamie Foxx Dating Rumors, but Are They a Couple? Here's Everything We Know!
by Rebecca Macatee
Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx certainly would make an attractive couple, and romance rumors have been surrounding these two for what seems like forever now (aka since 2013)...
Now the latest Us Weekly report claims the stars have "been hooking up on the DL" for the past year and a half. (Jamie's rep declined to comment on the report, while Katie's did not immediately respond to E! News' request for comment.) In any case, though, neither Katie nor Jamie seem all that concerned by the gossip!
The Giver star, 36, is much more focused on her dance workout—she Instagrammed an impressive video of herself "Kicking into Wednesday" this morning. And Jamie, 47? He's got music to promote!
The Grammy winner Instagrammed the single art for "You Changed Me," his latest song featuring Chris Brown. He thanked fans for their support, too, writing, "Acting and jokes are my livelihood, but music is my life. ?I am working hard on this new album coming soon and I hope you will love it."
We will, of course, but...back to the dating rumors! Are they or aren't they?! Well, it was a 2013 charity event that sparked all this speculaton (we'll get to that in a minute), and sources confirm to E! News that Katie and Jamie have hung out on more than one occasion since then. That said, there's no hard evidence to suggest they're anything more than friends.
Essentially, though, all of these rumors stem from the 4th annual Apollo in the Hamptons benefit which took place in August 2013. It was here that Jamie and Katie were photographed dancing together. According to reports, though, the Annie star also rocked out with Ellen DeGeneres and other stars that night, too...
And dancing isn't dating. "I had Colin Powell on stage dancing [too]," Jamie later quipped to ABC News, "so they could have said me and Colin Powell were dating!"
He also told Entertainment Tonight that the rumors du jour about him and Katie were "quite hilarious," reiterating that they came about "because we simply danced at a charity event along with a lot of other people."
